Cortez Explorers has been recently taken over by Mick Chapman. Celebrating his 30th year of diving, Mick will confidently show you the dive spots of Mulegé and the surrounding area. Mick is trained as a PADI Course Director, the highest level of the diving professional ladder. His love of diving is infectious to all those who have been taught by him. Indeed, many of his students have followed him around the world to continue their diving education.

Mick has already owned and operated diving centers on 3 continents; from the cold waters off of Norway, to the warmth of Sharm el Sheik and Dahab on the Red Sea, to Thailand, Malaysia and Borneo. He is now bringing all that experience to Mulegé and his fourth continent.

His passion for teaching is only outdone by his love of nature. If he cannot tell you the name of a fish, bird or crustacean, then rest assured he will want to find out for his and your curiosity.

Also on staff is Mariella, she is an Open Water Diver, looking to gain more SCUBA experience. She runs the day-to-day affairs of the shop, and is willing to help you in any way possible. From hiring bikes to rentals of SCUBA equipement, she can assist you.

We also employ local captains to charter our diving vessel, Palomita. Their local knowledge compliments the dives by allowing a good selection of dive sites for any weather situation.
